Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Island Oasis EyeShadow Palette

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Island Oasis EyeShadow Palette ($42) Highlight, define and dramatize your eyes with the shimmering metallics and sunlit satin shadows of summer. Luxurious compact contains 6 complementary shades to wear alone or together-the possibilities are endless.

Recommendation: This sleek palette has lots of bright summer colors, like the blue and gold, that allows you to create tons of different subtle and bold looks. The shadows are shimmering metallics that will sparkle in the sun but is not too glittery. The colors are all very pigmented even without a base. I love that Estee Lauder always includes mini brushes in their palettes even though I don’t use it I like knowing it’s there in case I need it. Pick up this palette for bright fun looks this summer!

Estee Lauder Shadow Stick Duo Summer 2011

Estee Lauder Shadow Stick Duo  in Gold Bronze ($20) is  a double ended complementing eyeshadow stick with intense, stay-true color with long-wearing and high-shimmer metallic finish. It’s smooth formula glides on easily, feels comfortable. It also does double duty as an eyeliner or you can apply all over the lid as a shadow. The Shadow Stick Duo is also available in pink and teal.

Recommendation: The shadow stick glides on effortlessly and is very pigmented. I have never used a shadow pencil before and this one from Estee Lauder pleasantly surprised me. The bronze and gold color would work well just as a shadow or even an eyelid base color. I used the pencil as an eyeliner on the upper lid and waterline and it didn’t move the whole day. It was like the formula was waterproof for the eyeliner working better than my waterproof bronze and gold eyeliners. So I am replacing those other liners with this Shadow Stick.

Estee Lauder Wild Violet Pure Gloss

Estee Lauder Wild Violet Pure Gloss ($20)

Ultra-light, ultra-sheer, clear gel gloss sweeps on a splash of color and wet, luminous shine. Electric Coral and Electric Violet are exclusively to the Wild Violet collection for Spring 2011. I really like the Violet shade. It gives a hint of color to the lips without being too pigmented like lipstick. The glosses are also not sticky which is always a plus.

Estee Lauder Sumptous Extreme Mascara

Estee Lauder Sumptous Extreme Mascara ($23.50) Lashes seem to multiply, magnify, grow to extremes. Three different high-volume fibers create audacious, false-lash effects. Extreme Bold Volume™ formula is a blend of three high-volume fibers in a mousse-light base. Acts like lash extensions multiplying and growing the look of lashes. Fortified with conditioning Lash-Advancing Vitamin Complex. The oversized BrushComber Extreme™ with two types of bristles-flexible fibers carry maximum formula; solid fibers comb and separate for clump-free definition. Available in 4 different colors, black, brown and 2 limited edition colors violet and indigo.

The 3 Fibers

  • Unique interlocking fibers build volume + length
  • Hollow fibers create massive volume, without weight
  • Ball fibers fill in and fill out even the sparsest lashes

The mascara applies clump free with the first layer with the second one it is still clump free but with thicker lashes. The big brush makes it very easy to coat all lashes, even the small ones on the side. I like what this mascara does for my lashes I would rate this as one below the quality of Dior lashes. My lashes are not clumpy, they are long and, hold a curl well.

The violet mascara looks very purple on the brush but when applied onto darker lashes you’ll see a hint of purple but it is not very noticeable, perhaps it would be more noticeable on lighter lashes. I would assume this effect would be the same for the blue mascara. I would recommend just getting the classic black and skip on the colored lashes.

Recommendation: With just 1-2 layers you’ll get clump free long lashes. The formula and brush separates each individual lash for a lengthening and slightly volumized look. In my opinion I don’t think the mascara gives the lashes a lot of volume but it does give off the false lash look.

Estee Lauder Holiday 2010 Pure Color Lipstick

Estee Lauder Holiday 2010 Pure Color Lipstick ($22) and Pure Color Gloss ($20) comes in 3 different rich red shades for the holiday season. At a first look the red lipsticks look pretty and attractive because it as a gold glitter on it but after applying you’ll discover that it is only glitter over spray and not a part of the color. Both lipsticks provide medium to full coverage easily in 1 application and has a pleasant fresh fig scent.  Extravagant Red  Lipstick, the lighter red is the typical bright red but not too bright that it still looks good for all skintones. Extravagant Berry Lipstick is the darker berry red which I find a little too overpowering for my skintone. I think Extravagant Berry would complement darker skintones best. Apply the color slowly because I found that if I make a mistake and tried to wipe the color off it does not completely come off and there is a hint of the color left of the skin.
Rating: B+

The Pure Gloss in Star Ruby is a glittery red that gives lips a hint of color and lots of shine. The lipgloss is very sheer however if you apply extra layers it will look more red. I do not particularly like the big pieces of glitter in the gloss because in my opinion I do not associate glitter with a mature look. I would have really liked this shade if they had put some sort of shimmer into it other than glitter to give a similar effect. This gloss also has a very sweet fruity smell. Finally, the best part of this gloss is it doesn’t feel sticky.
