Flirt! Dreamy Eyes Eyeshadow

Flirt! Dreamy Eyes Eyeshadow ($12) is a crease-proof eyeshadow that applies smoothly with a palette of buildable color choices in a wide variety of finishes, 35 different shades! What I enjoy about Flirt! is that they have samples available at Kohl’s unlike drugstore brands in which you are unable to test out different colors to determine if you like it. The texture of the eyeshadow when applying with the fingers is very satiny smooth and looks very pigmented however when I use a makeup brush that is not the case. Also, how cute is the case I like it just because its so unconventional than the other brands out there. How you open it is you pull it out to the right and then lift up the lid, it even has a good sized mirror! Continue reading

Z Palette To Consolidate Your Makeup

Z Palette ($14 & $20) Are you boxes full of individual eyeshadows and blushes and running of out space? You can solve storage problem with the Z Palette. It is very similar to the palette offered by MAC but allows you to have more 4 eyeshadows in a small palette. Yes it may cost a little more than the MAC Palettes but you can put different shaped pans in your palette and not just restricted to the small circular pans because the base of the palette is magnetic.  If the pan is not magnetic you can add a magnet to the bottom of it and place it in your palette. You can mix and customize eyeshadows, blush, and even foundation in your palette. It is made of a highly durable matte paper which won’t crack or break like MAC’s Pro Palette. The lid is also magnetic, the magnet is so strong that if you hold the palette upside down nothing will fall out. My favorite part? It has a clear acrylic viewing window unlike MAC’s bigger 16 eyeshadow palette. Continue reading

Tresemme Dry Shampoo

Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo ($5, 5.7oz) allows you to keep your hair clean in between shampoos. What is dry shampoo? Its purpose is to remove excess oil around the roots of your hair that makes it look dirty and weight down your hair. Dry shampoo is not like a traditional shampoo you use with water and that becomes soapy. It is usually available in an aerosol can that can be sprayed directly onto the roots, so its like a hairspray can. There is a powder in the spray which absorbs the oil. Tresemme’s new product is formulated with mineral clay which is the “powder” to absorb excess oil. It claims to “zap oil and odor in between washes…and gives hair a clean look and feel with gorgeous volume.” It is a citrus scent and is also safe for color treated hair.

e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip

e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip ($1) is a great multipurpose product that illuminates your skin for a dewy finish. I bought this to use as a highlighter and got their new color spotlight, which is a white shimmer. There are other colors available ranging from pink, purple, to browns. I want to try out some of the other colors soon they are such a great deal! It has vitamin B, C and E to instantly brighten and sooth skin with no greasy after-feel. To use simply use a small amount and blend into cheeks, or on eyes and lips. With the white color once I blend it in well it is not as shimmery as I would like but you can still see a nice shimmer on the skin. I just use another layer over the first to get the look I want.

This can be an eyeshadow base with shimmer or you can add some shimmer to your lips also. Surprisingly this product is also scented with a pleasant orange fragrance. All the colors available have this fragrance. The great part about this product also is it is in a tube making it convenient to use without brushes and is travel friendly.  A little really does go a long way so this tube should last for a while. A Dior Addict 2 Perfume Dupe From Flirt!

Flirt! Rock-N-Rebel ($35, 1.7oz) who would have thought that I could find a similar smelling Dior perfume for less! I was pleasantly surprised when I got my first smell of this perfume. I initially thought of Dior Addict 2 ($67, 1.7oz), which I own. I then spray both on my arm to compare, I know it sounds funny but I was in disbelief about how similar they smelled. I have always had the preconception that less expensive perfume would smell like that “cheap” perfume smell, but did Flirt! prove me wrong. I would definitely buy another Rock-N-Rebel to save myself almost half of what Dior would cost. The only thing stopping me though is that for someone in their 20s, I only wish that the design of packaging was a little more simple or sophisticated like Dior’s. The product loses some points with the packaging but it has nothing to do with the quality of the perfume. I am not a fan of  the “tattoo” look and prefer subtle designs or no designs, but other than that the product is great.

The notes in this perfume are blackberry, apple nectar, and pink grapefruit. Flirt! and Dior are both a nice crisp floral scent but Dior’s smell reminds me more of the smell of guava, it is a little fruitier than Flirt! If you have been eying Dior Addict 2 I recommend you to visit your nearest Kohl’s store which is where Flirt! is exclusively available to test out the perfume. Also, right now on flirtcosmetics.com you can enter to win your own Rock-N-Rebel perfume!!

MAC Art Supplies

MAC Art Supplies (Apr 2010) features an array eye and lips products. The lip products did not  stand out to me very much as the colors seemed too bright. I do however really like the numerous colors available for eye products, the Greasepaint Stick and Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner. My favorite is the Pearlglide Eyeliner ($14.50) which was surprisingly very easy to apply, comparable to Urban Decay’s 24/7 Eyeliners. I was surprised because I have Pearlglide Eyeliner from a previous collection which was a little more difficult to apply smoothly. Maybe the formulation in the new eyeliners are different since it is “intense” either way keep it up MAC the formulation is perfect!
