Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel Great for Removing Makeup

Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel ($12, 8oz; $20, 16oz) is non-foaming, gel cleanser that thoroughly removes the day’s make-up, dirt and oil without drying the skin. It contains Papaya and Grapefruit Extracts which are exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids that help prevent dulling build-up that can cause blackheads and pimples. Works best when used twice daily. Massage in a circular motion on wet skin avoiding eye area, rinse with tepid water, then pat dry and follow with toner or astringent.

The first thing I noticed was this cleanser was non-foaming. I usually don’t use non-foaming cleaners because my face just doesn’t feel clean afterward, just a personal preference. The gel is very gentle on the skin as you massage it in. It did a fantastic job of removing my waterproof makeup! Even the small glitter that is in Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliners were gone which usually doesn’t wash off with my other cleansers. After using this a few times I did notice some breakouts on my forehead I don’t know if this is a coincidence of using the product or not . Maybe it is because I stopped using my other face wash which contained 2% Salicylic Acid and while this cleansing gel didn’t contain any.

I like the packaging of the bottle with its plastic label so I can leave this in my shower to use without any paper peeling off and the flip top spout is very easy to open. I think this small bottle will last me the whole year since you do not need to use very much. Investing $12 for a cleanser that will last the whole year is a great deal!

Recommendation: If you’re looking for a multitasking makeup removing cleanser and don’t mind the non-foaming aspect of this product this is for you!
