You have to check out the International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS) at the Pasadena Convention Center! It’s the only show that I know of in CA that you don’t need a makeup artist license to attend. I went for the first time last year and I loved it, only wish I had more money to buy products since a lot of what was being sold was discounted so much. It will be help on Saturday 6/26 (8:30am-5pm) and Sunday 6/27 (10am-5pm). Here there will be many makeup schools which you can get information on their programs and many cosmetics brand such as M.A.C cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, NYX, Temptu, and much more! You can purchase pre-sale tickets right now until May 24 and the show is open to the public.

I picked up a lot of good quality Crown makeup brushes for about $4 or less and it was my introduction to the Z Palette which holds a lot of different shaped shadow pans. Watch the video to see the things I got at the show last year. There will also be speakers which will have makeup demonstrations but that will cost more. If you live in the area and are interested buy your pre-sale tickets now to save about 50% of the price after 5/24.
