Blotting paper is used to make the face look more matte by absorbing oil from the face usually without disturbing your makeup. Sonia’s new blotting paper at Target is a steal at $7 for 100 sheets when you compare them to Shiseido ($17/100 sheets), MAC ($13.50/30 sheets), or Clean & Clear ($6/50 sheets). The sheet is most comparable to a toilet seat cover. It is white and semi-transparent with a slightly smooth surface. Although the size of the sheet is larger than most brands, about the size of your palm, I find that I need to use at least two sheets to remove oil from my entire face
The packaging is a sleek white plastic case that will easily fit into and handbag. You won’t need to worry about the flap ripping off in your handbag exposing your blotting paper. If you’re not careful you may pull out a couple of sheets at one time, which is the only complaint I have about the packaging. I wish it were more of a pop up style like some other brands. Although I prefer Shiseido’s Pureness blotting paper because I only need to use one paper to remove all the excess oil, Sonia’s paper, at 10 cents less per sheet versus Shiseido is a much better savings and more widely available in Target stores. All I think they need to add to this blotting paper to make it the best blotting paper available is to add some powder to the surface of the sheets like Shiseido, which will allow me to use one sheet instead of two and thereby save even more money.
